In early 2016, Rachel graduated as a psychologist from the University of Amsterdam, having specialised in clinical developmental psychology and neuropsychology. She also completed specialist training at the Free University of Amsterdam as a psychomotor therapist. She then moved north to take up a post as PhD candidate at the University of Groningen. At the end of 2016, she began her career at Accare, where she first worked as a psychomotor therapist for two years and then took on her role as psychologist. In 2017, in the context of her doctoral research, Rachel set up the Phobia Clinic at Accare, especially for children and adolescents with specific phobias. In the meantime, Rachel started training as a cognitive behavioural therapist with Accare. She hopes to complete her PhD in 2020, under the supervision of Maaike Nauta and others, based on her research into the optimisation of anxiety treatment in children and adolescents.
