Vera de Vries

Vera de Vries is working as a physician-researcher (PhD candidate) for Accare and the developmental neurology (department of Pediatrics) of the UMCG. After receiving her medical degree from the University of Groningen, Vera de Vries joined Accare as a PhD candidate. In her PhD studies she focuses primarily on early signs of developmental disorders, such as autism, ADHD, developmental coordination disorder (DCD) and intellectual disability. With the outcome of her research projects she hopes to enable early detection of these disorders in the future. Therefore, in the BIRD study she assesses 1700 children representative of the Dutch population to investigate if their neurodevelopmental condition and motor performance at baby-age is predictive for developmental problems when they are 4-5 years of age.
