Leonie van Ginkel

Leonie van Ginkel has worked at Accare since 2010. She works within the nutrition disorders, eating disorders & obesity knowledge area, as a healthcare psychologist, cognitive behavioural therapist and Dutch Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies (VGCt) supervisor. Within the knowledge area, she performs diagnostic testing and provides treatment. She also coordinates obesity treatment within Accare. Practitioners at almost all Accare sites are trained in obesity treatment, so it can be offered close to home together with regional integrated care partners. The aim is for the whole family to achieve a healthy lifestyle. The protocol ‘Baas over Obesitas’ [In charge of obesity] was recently published, in which we describe a group treatment for young people (including those with mild intellectual disabilities). Finally, Leonie also delivers training for cognitive behavioural therapy staff.
