Ymkje Anna de Vries

Ymkje Anna is a senior researcher at Accare. She was trained as an epidemiologist and completed a PhD degree on the topic of (psychopharmacological) treatment of anxiety and depression in adults. Because mental health problems often first arise in childhood or adolescence, she then switched to child and adolescent psychiatry. She is involved with the DREAMS consortium, a collaboration between academic centers for child and youth psychiatry in the Netherlands. Within DREAMS, she works on the implementation of ROM questionnaires and leads research projects into psychopharmacology. She also performs epidemiological research into the development of comorbidity between internalizing disorders (anxiety and depression) during the life course, as comorbidity is a strong predictor of a chronic course, functional disabilities, and other poor outcomes.
