Biography

Renate Neimeijer works as a scientist practitioner at Accare and the University of Groningen. She aims to contribute as clinician and researcher to effective mental health care for young people with mental health issues. As a clinical psychologist, Renate has specialised mainly in the diagnosis and treatment of children and adolescents with nutrition and eating disorders. Her research focuses on, e.g., dysfunctional information processing functions in eating disorders. She also conducts research into children with avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID). By working both as a practitioner and a researcher, she hopes to obtain a better understanding of the processes underlying the development and persistence of this debilitating disorder and thereby ultimately improve its treatment.
