Annelies de Bildt has worked at Accare since 1997. She conducts research and provides training in the use of diagnostic instruments.
Biography
Annelies is a psychologist by background and, together with colleagues from the Netherlands and other countries, she conducts scientific research into autism and among people with intellectual disabilities. In the field of autism, she researches how we can effectively identify and define autism in (young) children and adults, boys and girls. She also studies the potential impact of secondary issues and the effective treatment of autism and secondary issues. As regards people with intellectual disabilities, her research concerns the identification and treatment of psychiatric disorders in a broader sense. Her work focuses on (young) children and adults, parents or guardians, and the systems that surround them, such as education. Annelies considers it essential that care for children with psychiatric disorders is developed on the basis of scientific knowledge and understanding. Through her research, therefore, she aims to contribute to practice and share scientific knowledge through consultation, education, the development of manuals to guide use of diagnostic instruments and the provision of training on these instruments.
