
Instructions for translating web pages
Here's a English version of instructions for translating web pages in different browsers.
Google Chrome
- Open the web page.
- If the page is in a foreign language, a translation bar will automatically appear at the top.
- Click “Translate” to convert the page into English (or your preferred language).
- If the bar doesn’t appear:
- Go to Settings > Languages.
- Make sure “Offer to translate pages that aren’t in a language you read” is turned on.
Mozilla Firefox
Firefox doesn’t have a built-in translation feature like Chrome, but you can:
- Install an extension such as Google Translate or To Google Translate from addons.mozilla.org.
- After installation, right-click on a page and choose the translation option.
Safari (Mac/iOS)
- Open the web page.
- If translation is available, you’ll see a translation icon in the address bar.
- Click it and choose “Translate to English ” (or another language).
- This works only for supported languages and macOS/iOS versions.
Microsoft Edge
- Open the web page.
- Edge automatically detects foreign languages and offers translation via a pop-up.
- Click “Translate”.
- You can also manually translate by:
- Right-clicking on the page > Translate to English.
- Or via Settings > Languages > Translation settings.
