Barbara van den Hoofdakker is bijzonder hoogleraar en klinisch psycholoog/cognitief gedragstherapeut bij het Accare Child Study Center en de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen.
Biografie
Barbara werkt sinds 1993 bij Accare. Zowel in de klinische praktijk als in het wetenschappelijk onderzoek gaat haar interesse uit naar de behandeling van gedragsproblemen (waaronder ADHD) bij kinderen. Ze vindt het belangrijk om de geestelijke gezondheidszorg voor kinderen en jongeren te verbeteren door aanbevelingen die voorkomen uit wetenschappelijk onderzoek te implementeren in de praktijk. Barbara draagt daarom regelmatig bij aan de ontwikkeling van landelijke en internationale richtlijnen en praktijkstandaarden. Sinds ze bij Accare werkt heeft ze verschillende functies vervuld, waaronder die van inhoudelijk manager van de afdeling ADHD, gedragsstoornissen en tics, en, tot op heden, die van voorzitter van de kennislijn ADHD en gedragsstoornissen. Sinds 2013 werkt ze voor een deel van haar tijd bij de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen en combineert ze haar onderzoeks- en klinische werkzaamheden met de functie van hoofdopleider van de Groningse post-masteropleiding tot gezondheidszorg (GZ) psycholoog en (sinds 2019) waarnemend hoofdopleider van de post-masteropleiding tot klinisch psycholoog.
